It seems everyone peddling their own stuff, or banging on about somebody elses stuff is in raptures about how you can make "$50 grand in 30 days", or "10,000 visitors in a week", or "this program does it all", "click 3 buttons then sit on your butt and make thousands on autopilot", or some other ridiculous claim about the products capabilities. I have never read so much BS, although sometimes very creative BS, about so many bits of software that really do bugger all. If I was going to give anyone some advice at this point it would be to learn to read between the lines, which is near on impossible, or to read the real-as-you-are-gonna-get reviews at 'The Warrior Forum'.
The reviews here are in depth and will let you know 1. if the stuff does what it says it will, 2. how many OTO, (one time offers), or upgrades you need to buy on that "unbelievable, I should be locked up for doing this" price of $17 on the slick sales page. Often you will need to spend 10 times that to get all the pieces of the puzzle. And generally without all the pieces the software does close to nothing but take up space on your harddrive. And you can pretty much guarantee the dude flogging the stuff has never made a dime using it, but has made all his money selling it.
So if there is one good lesson I have learnt, apart from writing sales copy after reading hundreds of the things, is that the grass is always greener around every email laden corner, and as the frustration mounts on the search for the perfect method to make money online..... there isn't one. There are thousands. I think the direction you decide to take needs focus, patience and dedication.
Until my next entry... good luck to your family :)
My Internet Marketing Journey
This is my trip down the "make money online" path. Looking forward to posting my successes, my discoveries, my mistakes and sharing them with the world.
My Story
- Darren Beesey

- I am about to embark on a journey of discovery. I think I will not only discover myself, but the aim is to find a reliable method to achieve a large passive income online. The plan is to follow the successful ways of those who have been down this path with a focus on ethical marketing, quality activity and of course, have made plenty of money doing it. Wish me luck, even better, join me on the journey.

Big Names... Bad Products
So. I have been following a number of big names in the world of internet marketing. I have quickly dropped off a couple and continue to read the lessons of those who seem to be genuine, and don't continually redirect me to sales pages for the latest piece of rubbish they are promoting. It seems that many IM's/guru's out there don't really give a hoot whether you succeed or not but are simply after the almighty dollar. I don't blame them of course, as that is exactly why I am chasing the golden goose myself.
What I'm not interested in is buying some flashy looking software that fills one hole in the much larger puzzle that is running an online business. Tony Shepherd is one guy that is well worth a look. He provides a FREE bunch of resources that follow a logical way to approach starting an online business. I have signed up and at this stage I am quietly impressed with the information I have available to me.
For now, in a world of massive information overload, I am happy to continue to follow the advice of those people I feel I can trust and go about assisting there subscribers with genuine info that makes sense.
Will continue the studies and let you know what transpires, until then...

You Tube Marketing...
Wow... didn't see that one coming. There are just so many options available to get the marketing job done. Some of which are sooo obviously junk, some are maybe a possibility for those with particular specialities, far too many "one-click-riches" and thousands of products out there that target small parts of the process.
I have figured out there is two ways to set up shop on the net at a very basic level. You either have a website (or a number of them) of your own, or you dont. If you don't you are choosing to promote other people's stuff and look to make a commission on each sale. Either way there are people making enormous amounts of money. And right there is the attraction to any of the options available to the masses. The money... Traffic, sales funnels, email marketing, lists, affiliate sales, pay per click, pay per view, facebook, twitter, linkedIn, the list seems to be inexhaustable for the jargon used online to describe the marketing methods available.
It seems to me I need to find a daily program of activity that 1. gets what I am doing a positive presence. 2. gets some sort of flow of interested people to have a look at what I am doing and 3. gets as many of these people as possible to buy something that creates income for me.
Over the next week, I am going to spend a couple of hours a day googling my rear end off and researching in as much detail as I can the possibilities available. I think I know what I am comfortable with, and maybe even have a small idea as to what direction I wish to take with this stuff... Will post the results, and with a bit of luck I will make a choice.

Internet Marketing...Seriously?
Yep... After a year or two of poking around and window shopping, I have decided to commit to building an Internet Marketing Business, seriously. I am going to chronical my journey, for better or worse, right here for all to see :)
This blog will also serve to make me accountable to the process. I think that can only be of benefit. Dont you?
Look forward to your company, Darren.
